Learning Provider

The Real Partnership provides two ways of learning in Glasgow :

1. Support for Learning: Real Learning Centres, based in community libraries, universities, colleges and workplaces in Glasgow ; and
2. Learning Content: Relevant and interest-based free and online content to provide high quality learning in accessible ways.

Our history

So how did Real come about? Real was formed in 1999 as a partnership response to the learning needs of Glasgow and to help create a Learning City in line with the Scottish Executive's lifelong learning agenda. The Real Partnership consists of Scottish Enterprise Glasgow, Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Colleges Group, University of Strathclyde , University of Glasgow and Glasgow Caledonian University . Each partner brings its own expertise in the area of learning to create a Learning City to benefit all citizens of Glasgow and beyond.

Membership

You can become a Real Learner if you live, work and/or study in Glasgow. Simply go along to any Glasgow Library and Real Learning Centre and speak to a member of staff. As well as joining as a library member you will also be able to access a wide range of workshops and learning to help you on your way to becoming a lifelong learner. All learning is free.

If you don't live, work or study in Glasgow then you can still access the learning available here free of charge and can call yourself a Distance Real Learner!
